Selling my 1987 FJ60 with 160k miles. Here's the details:
Done by PO:
SOA conversion
H55 tranny
Ramsey winch (not sure model or specs, but works)
front brush bars
The following was done by me within the last 10k miles:
Marlin Hi-steer
Extended Braided stainless steel brake lines all around
New Rancho 5000 shocks
4 New BFG AT's 35 x 12.5 x 15
35 x 12.5 x 15 BFG AT spare (used but holds air)
New black steel rims
Custom dual battery system with all new 2/0 primary wiring system and heavy duty marine grade battery selecter
New alternator
new clutch master cylinder
Replaced all belts and hoses
Complete hub to hub front axel rebuild using Marlin seals
new AC condenser and dryer (R12 system)
Rear sway-bar setup from a 62 (MAJOR improvement in handling)
New Alpine CD Stereo 50w
New 5 1/4" front & 6.5" back speakers
I'm sure there's a bunch of other stuff that I can't think of right now.
The good: Runs good, comfortable ride (soft SOA springs)
The Bad: Usually I passed smog w/ flying colors (can prove with paperwork) but this last time in Aug '11 I just barely passed. Not exactly sure why. Probably a valve adj and a good carb rebuild would set her straight. Driveablity-wise, she runs great. AC was working perfectly and then last week it stopped...not sure why, probably a minor electrical problem. Rear defroster broken. Fan doesn't work on the lowest setting (works on the other 3 just fine). Rear swaybar bracket bent on the last wheeling trip, so I took the whole bar assembly off. I think a new bracket is about $10 or so
Costmetically, she's a 5 out of 10. Rust-wise there is some rust (what 60 doesn't?) but it appears very-repairable if that's the route you want to go. The driver's side fender and rear quarterpanell has some minor damage and would have to be replaced to make her "show-room quality"
I would fix all of the above problems, but I simply don't have the time or $$ to do it. Asking $4,500 obo. If you can meet my asking price, I've got a shelf full of parts including a spare carb, misc smog equipment, suspension bushings etc. I'll even throw in a 60" hi-lift for my asking price.
Truck is located in the Long Beach, CA area.
Please email wjfrontiera@yahoo.com with any questions.
Thanks for looking
I will try and post some better pics tomorrow. Also, the Yakima is not for sale. I borrowed it from a friend
