Just bought an 80 (from the Mud list) and am selling my 86 FJ60. Daughter is having a hard time learning to drive a standard shift vehicle..............In any event this is a good truck, bought it from Tom Humphries in New Jersey. Solid truck with some rust- starting on the rear wheel wells, liftgate, and driver door (DD is the worst spot). Silver in color needs paint. That's the bad news. Here's the good:

This truck has lots of good features. It has a strong running original 2F engine, starts right up every time and never stalls. All smog equipment still in place and functional. Of course has the large electronic distributor and all that other good stuff. Clutch seems very good no problems there. Has an H55 five speed transmission that works perfectly, mated to the original split transfer case (best of the splits started in mid 1985) with the larger diameter idler shaft. Driveshafts are original. Axles have 4.10 gears (FJ62 third members). Of course it has the good Aisin hubs.

Power steering works fine, no leaks at pump or box. Cold AC. Radiator and water pump replaced last year, and a tuneup was performed at that time. Full Old Man Emu suspension- springs, shocks, steering stabilizer and shackles. Has an ARB front bumper with a like new (looks like it was never used and the paperwork is still in the console) Warn 8274 winch. Nice custom rear bumper with towing receiver. Tires are brand new 33 x 12.50 BFG mud terrains on steel wheels. Brakes work fine and exhaust system is in good condition.

Interior is in good condition, dash pad has one crack. Seats good condition (gray interior) as are all seat belts. Carpet pretty good. Headliner very good. Has a really nice Tuffy console and an inclinometer/clock package from Japa they're hooked up and work. Has an FJ62 steering wheel in nice shape. All gauges work, and all accessories work fine- wipers in all positions, rear wiper, strong heater, rear heater, rear window defroster, horn, all that stuff works as it should. All glass in good shape, almost forgot the windshield was also replaced last year. Has a good stereo, too, with speakers in their stock location. All the locks work, too.

This is a good running reliable truck. I had the opportunity to drive it at this year's Coal Mine Cruiser Classic and couldn't help buying it. With the H55 and 4.10 gears it can wheel nicely and the overdrive makes it much better on the freeway. No wind nopise or anything in this truck- it's a solid vehicle that will make someone a great daily driver. Transfer case shifts and works perfectly and the brakes are good, parking brake even works. Mileage is 151K and I am the third owner, in fact Tom was the second owner and got it from his brother in law who bought it new.

I'm looking to get $4900 for the truck, I paid $4500 and thought it to be a good deal. I added the new tires ($760 worth), replaced the front door speakers and wiper blades, and got the inclinometer/clock wired in and working correctly. Best way to reach me is by email- home is shmukter@pa.metrocast.net and work is GSCHMAUCH@cartech.com. Phone numbers are home 570-668-2489 before 8PM eastern and work 610-208-3792. Thanks, Shmukster
