Updated 9/8 with current status. Runs / drives great. Sad to see her go, but starting a business.

Located in San Francisco, a block from 16th & Mission bart station.

Will smog and re-register next week.

I have posted this as a "feeler" before, had to back-burner, but 100% ready to sell this time around. Please note, some of the details have changed, this ad is the current sale condition.

A few notes - cash / cashiers check (must clear before giving over vehicle) only, located in San Francisco, can potentially arrange shipping / inspection at buyer's expense. Will take a deposit to hold truck.

***Will NOT part out. Please don't ask. All or nothing.***

Details:

85' FJ60, around 175,000 miles. 3rd owner, clean CARFAX and title. No records at all prior to my purchase.

Body:

Pretty straight, no major accidents or repair that I am aware of. Underside of truck is fairly clean, minor surface rust, no rot at all.

There are some rust spots / holes on fenders, rear arches, tailgate. All are easily repairable but i would suggest replacing 'gate. Paint is ok at best - clearcoat peeling off, scratches minor dents here and a bit of surface rust. Definitely restorable or usable as-is.

There are holes in roof from OEM luggage rack, I will seal them with silicon. No leakage / damage to interior.

Interior:

Carpet is pretty decent in passenger area and rear. Cargo side and gate panels replaced with diamond plate. Back seat in decent shape, bottom cushion of drivers' seat torn and needs replacing - still usable. Headliner is pretty good, no tears, minor staining.

Heater works fine, AC blows relatively cold but haven't really used it in warm weather.

***The Recaros shown in previous pics are not included, unless we negotiate a price for them and the brackets. Will post more interior pics soon.

Dash is cracked, but i have installed a gauge pod over worst area. All else seems to work fine.

Very nice older Alpine CD / MP3 player with ipod integration, time alignment, digital x-overs, sub output with easy level adjustment, and remote. Wired for additional amps with clean power distribution under dash.

Running gear:

Stock 2F with all smog equipment intact. Passed smog when i bought it, definitely running better so shouldn't be a problem. Cruises with traffic on highway no problem but certainly not a hot-rod.

New since i bought it 7 mos. ago:

Dash mounted gauge pod with VDO vacuum, mechanical oil pressure & water temp gauges.

Distributor, plugs, wires, fuel filters, majority of vacuum lines.

Entire clutch assembly replaced with Centerforce clutch, pilot & TO bearings, rear seal, flywheel, master / slave and braided steel line, synthetic oil. Bled and checked over by Gary @ Mudrak.

Everything cleaned and re-lubed in process.

Radiator, hoses, thermostat, belts.

Cat-back custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster 1 in 2 out, pretty clean job. Sounds good but not too aggressive. All exhaust leaks dealt with.

All tie-rod ends replaced, steering linkages lubed, drives very straight and confident.

New OME steering stabilizer.

New 5 x 285/75 16 BFG ATs on Pro-Comp steelies with 2.5" BS. Fit great, perfect for "expedition" / daily driver.

Aftermarket stuff:

OME / MAF 5" HD lift. Great condition, all removed. lubed and re-installed.

ARB front bumper / brushguard with PIAA lights.

Kaymar rear bumper with tire rack and fuel can swing-outs. Wheel / tire & jerrycan included.

Safari snorkel installed, but tubing not run.

Full front axle rebuild kit included, but not installed.

2 x manifold gaskets, not installed.

Enough silicon vacuum line to finish the job...

Rear plate to spare tire relocation kit, not installed.

Additional parts available at extra cost:

Recaro SE seats with Wedge Engineering brackets - $$$ up for negotiation.

This is a very solid truck, having lived it's life in Northern California. Would be a great candidate for a V8 conversion and body refresh. Sad to see it go, but hope it goes to someone that will continue restoration...

Please email / call if you want more info, pics, etc.

Thanks,

Tom

This is a great looking rig and Tom is a stand up guy to work with. Tons of extras and solid work done. If i could come up with an excuse for another 60...
