OK,

Now that I have a welder I'm getting excited about pulling together my sliders. I have priced steel around town and have found a place in Lees summit that will sell the steel I need at almost half the price of other places around KC. The catch is that I need to purchase 20 feet of each size I need rather than the exact amount i need per foot.

I did the math and even with me purchasing all of that extra steel I could easily build two sets of sliders for the price of one! So, my question is who wants to go in and purchase the steel together as it would be close to 50% less to buy it this way.

I plan on getting the stuff reletively soon so let me know if any of you are interested. I plan on designing my sliders like Hanna's with 2x3x3/16 for the main slider and 2" DOM at .120 wall thickness. I figured it would cost me $280 for all the steal if I went to metal by the foot in KC just to build one set of sliders or if I could find some to go in with me to purchase the steel in Lees Summit it would cost us only around $300 for all the stuff we need to build two sets of sliders. We may even be able to build three sets of sliders if we dont mess up any cuts, but it would be very close.

So, who is in????

Thanks

I would be in, but I have no idea how to do any kind of metal fabrication or welding.

If I didn't need to do that stuff, sure, I'd be in.

I have zero fab skills but if you can pull off 2 sets of the bolt on Hanna style sliders I'd pay for the steel for both sets ($300) providing one set makes it home on my rig. I can't seem to bring myself to drop the coin for sliders from Slee/Metaltech/Hanna etc and would be delighted to end up with a set for $300.
