I got a set of 4 OEM 80 wheels ('95-'97, which use the "shank" style lugs) I need to get out of my way, and I thought I'd post them here before going to the MUD/eBay market.

They all appear to be "true," but the clear coat is coming off of 3 of them. I don't know about refinishing these wheels, so I would consider them to be good candidates for either painting them or powder coating them (like Bill did to the 17" FJ Cruiser wheels he put on his truck). It's possible, they COULD be refinished to stock, I'm just not familiar with that process.

$150 for the set (no centers or lugs)

I'll take those wheels from you sir!

Mark and David,

I am planning on going to Jackson for Easter. I am planning on taking trailer to pick up tires from Lash. I can pick up some tires if you want.

Mark, consider them yours! Also, I want to hear about / learn about your beadlock conversion plans......sounds interesting!

Mike, thanks for the offer. Mark, just let me know if this would be convenient for you to send them with Mike. Otherwise, we can get Nolen to ship them directly to Champion from here.......whatever's most convenient for you.

Champion will convert them to their C3 beadlocks for $208.00 a wheel. The normal beadlocks are around $300.00 a wheel but, I prefer to keep the stock looking wheels...I just think they look great. I will then probably end up stripping and rattle canning the wheels black. I'll try and do it right by using primer and all that good stuff and doing some wet sanding between coats...we will see how they turn out. The beadlocks should protect the finished product and if all works well I will mount a set of BFG all terrains on my stock wheels and then use the beadlocks for offloading with my Goodyears.

That's the plan and I am sticking to it.

If Nolan can ship them directly I will probably just do that. I will touch base with Champion and see what I need to do to get them there...stay tuned.

I love the idea of the stock wheels converted to beadlocks!

why not go back to the same color as the original wheels or close to it?

cant see black wheels that well and would lose its original look IMO.

david painted his a gun metal color and they came out good. that would be the darkest i would go personally..

Kind of interesting. Nice looking truck, but the guy claims it's a "locker truck" (K294, with e-lockers front / rear and the harness.......but no switch in the dash) Something's a little fishy there, but from communicating with him, I'm betting it could be bought for $5,000. If it's got the lockers in place, it'd be a piece of cake to get them working.

Not bad for a locked 97 Collector's Edition (Chris, you agree?)

Saw this one th other night. 5k with that mileage is the number till gas gets closer to $5 a gallon then all bets are off. I think they become $4k trucks quickly...

Locker questions red flagged me as well.

I could be talked into trading the filthy girl for a full suspension mtn bike right now.
