It is not about the miles on the motor it is the overall miles on the entire vehicle. Age kills but not as much as use. I would love to have that truck.
It is not the 3FE deal to me... It is a dog. That said, that particular truck looks really nice. I love low mileage Toyotas. Worth a premium IMO.

I agree. if i had a choice between a built 80 and stock 80 with lower miles say 120k miles vs 60k miles i would take the stocker.
now if an 80 is over 120k i think its a wash. you are running into the same type of maintenance issues HG, front end redone. possible leaks ,etc.

I'd rather a well cared for 3FE over an ignored 1FZE any day of the week, if that were the choice.
I just like the idea of a one owner truck that had 4000 miles annually on the clock. Spells a serious find IMO.
Of course, I found a 80k 95 FZJ80 semi local and it was total garbage. Came out of NJ and it was destroyed.

so what is yalls opinion on newer verse older - verse high mileage - low mileage.
that 91 LC is going to have gasket, seal issues if not now, very soon, while say a 97-2000 would be better off.....
having said that whats the trade off for catching up on maintenance with a pristine 91 verse a newer LC that cost more, but doesn't need as much maintenance to be right?

It does have the raised white letter tires. That's worth a few grand right there.
Nothing says that that truck will need anything but gas. If it LOOKS like a one-owner well cared for rig. Fill it up and peel out.

I actually like this rig. It needs a new suspension STAT though! the castor is way under cut. Is the rust scaring folks down this way? We don't normally see rust like this unless it came from the salt-belt.
Yeah this rig was already well traveled before I got it. Previous owner lived in Michigan I think and was stationed in South Ms. Later he retired to the Virginia Coast, which is where I bought it. Now it's back in south Ms, and I am out on the west coast. Gotta love the re-assignments with the military.
What's the give away on the caster being "undercut"? I never had any issues at any speeds (up to 70ish) and steering with this thing.

You probably didn't notice the issue since the steering wheel returned to center faster than it should when it's not in spec the opposite way. Think of a lift making rotating the axle facing downward. The pic of your rig has the face of the axle pointing upward, also going off the control arm locations and knuckle /steering arm locations.
It's the original springs prolly and they saggin, that's all, it's just time for some new springs and shocks.
That is what I was guessing, just wanted to verify. Yep original springs.
