Do it.

My buddy found one with 88,000 miles on it. Its kinda beat up, but those are some LOW miles. 46,000? Get outa here! That is new...

I got to thinking.... it's still 17 years old and age, not miles, breaks gaskets and rubber seals down... it'll require the same maintenance that a 200+ mile 80 will and those are MUCH cheaper... good for someone though, just not me.

It's legit. Buddy of Todd's.

Funny thing, he posted the link from the guy he bought it from and it was listed for $18,500

$20K and immediately needs a front axle job. LOL.

edit: Oh my Shunt! I've wheeled with this truck before.

My thoughts exactly......can you imagine what kind of 80 you could build with $20,000?

I built Lorena with 20 dollars!

I really like the 40th anniversary version of the 80 series landcruiser. To me its the best looking 80 period. now add lockers, a supercharger, good interior, and accessories. I really don't like the 175,000 miles though.

I agree with you David you can build a serious 80 for 20k. If i was in the market this one would be real tempting. if i had the choice between the built 40th or a stock 40th with sub 100k miles. Both 80s being in the same condition. i would choose the 40th 80 with lower miles.

Less wear and tear on the whole truck is more appealing to me. I don't care for performing maintenance but i love upgrades!

yup

It's a 13-15K truck at best IMO.

It would take 10k or more to get that truck like it is right now.

I guess I'm confused at what you're saying. Is his 80 "worth every penny" as you stated in his for sale thread or is it a "13-15K truck at best"? I guess I'm not following.

I'm of the belief it's more like a 13-15K rig, but you know more about this stuff than I could ever imagine!

Knowing the guy's current situation I am trying to help him with his inflated price...just not with my local club :D

Blah, blah, blah...let's see pictures of whatever new tires are on your 80.

AHHhhhhhh... I got ya.

Sorry. I was trying to read between the lines and couldn't

I picked up my tires today. Everything looks great.

I will have to do a little rear mudflap trimming but overall they fit good.

I will surely have to lower bumpstops and sway bar brackets and other stuff but the lift is right for the tires.

I will twist it up tomorrow.
