80 series 3rd members?

Is an 80 series third member interchangeable with 40 series? or do 80's have that "high pinion" stuff?

I'm considering a front 80-series takeout for my elocker to save some $$.

Rear 80 can be used in the front (because it is full floater) of a 40/60/62. It could be used in the rear if the rear was a full floater.

the front e-locker won't be an easy fit in a 40, the rear fits with a little trimming on the axle housing.

so, i think what you're saying (and what i'm reading elsewhere) is that the 80-series front elockers ARE the high-pinion beasties, and not what I want. Correct?

Correct the high pinion front will not fit your 40. At least not without coloring way outside the box.
