I've searched all over for this here and haven't located an answer.

I just did the knuckle job on my 93 80.

New Brake pads

Through search I know that that other people have found the calipers, faulty brake shoes, trunion or a bearing repack fixed their issue.

This issue is a little different though. When braking all is fine until you almost stop.... at about 3mph the brake pedal goes down and the truck pulls to the right. This is true in slow stops and braking hard.

I'm leaning toward the caliper and hope thats all it is. Any imput here?

Have you bedded the new pads, several high speed stops in a row, until hot and smokey? Sometimes this can be caused by grease or other contaminants on the rotor and/or pad, bedding will often burn them off and a proper bedding cycle increases brake performance.

My guess is the left-front ABS sensor is not picking up rotation. The system is ignoring it at higher speeds, but at low speed it's trying to release the brake on what it senses as a stopped wheel.

Good idea to pull the ABS sensors and check to make sure they're clean, no metal shavings. If there's metal on the sensor it screws with the reading. Only one bolt to pull 'em, maybe a 5 minute job.

I assume he had them out for a knuckle job. Might have damaged the wiring, or maybe replaced a birf with a non-ABS (no ring), or the sensor isn't all the way in, lots of possibilities. Could pull the ABS fuse and see if it changes.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago but it pulled to the left.
The passenger side cailper was seized so I did a redneck R&R on it and it works fine for now or until I replace it which will be soon.
I do not have ABS:D so do not know about the potential ABS problem.

thread isn't updating me.... but just logged back in..... good call on the ABS, yes, the knuckle job was done, I was careful with the sensor... that would be the first and easiest place to look.

12mm and 5 minutes is a good estimate. Thats the kinda stuff I was hoping you guys would share! Thanks

Pull the ABS fuse and drive around the block would be my first check.

checking now.
