I have been reading through the posts and I was wondering if anybody has put in 8 or 9 after-market speakers with two amps--something like an alpine 4x40 and maybe a 5x40? I assume the dash and rear overhead factory locations house 3.5"? What can I fit in the factory sub location? Right now I have 4 speakers and an infinity bass link but it would be fun listening to Marley with between 8 or 10 speakers. Don't get me wrong I don't need to top the neighbor kid--I just enjoy a rich full sound......

I used front components in mine....then components in the back... a 10" JL W7 and then rigged up some 1" tweeters in the lower dash stock spot to use as my center channel for the surround sound...Im running 3 amps and a 3 farad capacitor...as far as using the far back upper speakers they are small and almost useless...i do not think you could fit much in there except some tweeters...i do not think toyota ever wanted aftermarket stereo stuff in a LC after doing all the modifying to make stuff fit on mine...good luck

I've been thing about getting the Bass link, how do you like it?

Mook- is the W7 in a box? That's a huge -and nice- unit.

Mooker, I just installed the stereo/cd. Sounds great. Thanks. You left me a gift in the cd player...

Lol...glad the cd player turned out good....hope you enjoy the CD....i do that every time I take out a CD player....

yup, you are less 1 widespread panic...If you like I'll send it back. After I burn a copy...

nah you can keep the cd...thanks for the offer...ive bought that entire set again cause the others in it were so messed up...hope you enjoy it

I love having my basslink in. can't beat it for price and the output you get. I had it in my 4runner hook up with low level rca connectors to my pioneer head unit, and now in the 80 it's on high level speaker inputs and sounds just as good.

I don't think 3 1/2" speakers will fit in the dash or headliner....use tweeters. I'd recomend hooking up a 4 channel amp to the factory head unit, running passive crossovers for components...and getting tweeters for the dash, headliner and re-using the factory door speakers. and drop using the crapy factory sub in the back. IMO the basslink with the factory system sounds as good as an aftermarket unit/speakers.

I too had the basslink in my 4Runner--it sounds great. If you want to compete with the kid next door get something else. I like it is nice and simple and around $200 off the internet :)

Do the front and rear doors take 6.5"? The PO put in alpines with a alpine 23x4 rms head unit. I was thinking of running a alpine amp such as a 40x4 rms with some type of componet speaker----Any comments on alpine vs pioneer vs infinity vs mb quart etc.?

Bear--what tweeters did you put in the headliner/dash? This could be the other option just replacing the apline speakers for something with a richer sound....

I have 5 1/4" coaxials in the front, 4" in the back, best I could do with the limited depth in the door. I have a big 5 channel Kenwood amp mounted where the factory sub and amp were. for a sub, I am using a single 10" kicker solobaric, firing down. The enclosure is slid into one of those plastic cargo carrier totes. It sounds good, is removeable, and totally hidden.

I am considering components in the front, haven't decided yet, and I have several other type of subwoofer enclosures depending on how much room I need for a trip.

All those product brands are good in my opinon, MB Quart in my opinion, but fit will really determine what you can use.

I wouldn't bother with the tiny stock headliner locations, I disconnected mine, couldn't stand how they sounded.

I used all diamond audio components... the 5.25 are only 1 7/8" deep...and the quality is top notch...best sound in my opinion... I will try to snap some pics later.
