Lets plan a group picnic!
The suggestion last night was Davis Creek park.
For those of you unfamiliar with Davis Creek it is located south of Reno on Old 395 about 9.5 miles from the intersection of US395 and SR431(Mt Rose HWY). The park is well shaded with tons of places for the kids to explore, a badminton and volley ball court as well as horse shoes.

Here is the info on reserving the group Picnic area ($130/day +$100 refundable cleaning deposit)

There was also some interest in camping, here are some details:
There are two walk in tent camping areas just up the hill from the picnic area.($100/night)
Group Tent Area

There is also a combined RV and tent group use area over in the camp ground($125/night)
Group RV area

Individual camp sites are available for $20/night ($5 for extra vehicles and $1 for pets). Both Tent and RV(no hook-ups) campsites are available.

Edit:
So far we have commitments from;
Ben & Val
Keith + 4
Dan & Joanne

Total:9

I talked to the :princess:! Were DOWN for this to camp!
Lets do it. Its actaully a PERFECT set up for us, with her being on call.

I added a poll to gauge interest. If we get enough people to camp we can try to get the group RV area. It' pretty nice, there is a fire pit and the area has it's own flush toilets.

Umm Smores.

Depends on whether I draw a pronghorn tag or not...

I'm in for food

:pig:What date did you decide on? Hopefully I will draw a bow tag for Antelope; But will always make time to eat someone elses cookin!

If you can't talk to Mom with a radio shack walkie talkie or two dixie cups and a string it's camping. :flipoff2:

Davis Creek is our favorite "Maiden voyage" trip with new gear.

20 minutes from the house so you aren't trying to figure out a new tent after 6 hours on the road.

20 min from home in case you forgot the one really really important thing you just can't live with out.

20 min from home in case everything just goes pear shaped.

Plus we really love the hand dipped ice cream bars at the Nugget candy factory.

BWAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAA!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

that's some funny s*it there!

give me a little more time and I may just have the mini truck ready to play again.

after all the work I've put into this at this point do you think for a second that I would drive anything else, I'm chomping at the bit to see how it is going to work.

We set a date!

We set a date at the last meeting, Saturday, August 21.

I can still get the group picnic site but for the number of people in the club I could also probably just show up early and stake out one of the larger areas in the day use section. It cost $130 to reserve the group picnic area and it holds 100 people. The larger general picnic areas will easily hold 25 - 30 people.

We need some PARTICIPATION to make this happen:

SHOPPING
COOKS
GAMES/ENTERTAINMENT
CLEAN-UP

Please post up what job you would like to take on, and how many in your party so we can get a head count for shopping.

We will decide at the next meeting if the club will provide all of the food or just the main course with everybody pitching pot-luck style with salads and stuff.

Participation

Val and I are in. As far as participation we can shop, cook, and clean up. Sign us up for anything we'll be there. Not much in the entertainment department, unless you like watching grass grow. Might be able to come up with some horseshoes. I haven't played volleyball in about 12 years.

Were IN and were gonna camp.
Well have our daughter (Melissa) and her two boys with us (robert and cody). Cant wait. Julez will be on call of course.

Any chance you will debut the club "Clean Sweep" award?
