79 Series - 30th Anniv Edition (Japan Spec) - Suspension Lift Kit - Help!

Hello friends I hope someone can help me as am a bit stuck. ​

I have a 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Series Double Cab 30th Anniversary edition which was sold only in Japan, only for a year and has the 1GR-FE V6 petrol engine. ​

I’d like to do a lift kit but the main suppliers don’t seem to cater for this model - for instance ARB in their catalogues’ application table provide shocks/springs etc for ALL engine types but deliberately exclude this V6 petrol variant (see pic). Does anyone know why? (I thought suspension mounts, axles etc would all be the same).​

Does anyone else have this Jap V6 petrol engine & lifted the rig can provide guidance as to how you went about it? Thanks

I am guessing here, but I would suggest the engineers putting this all together simply did not have access to this specific model to verify. I know I would not sign my name to something I could not verify myself. It opens too many doors for liability.

I would suggest that it is likely that they would work just fine. Find out their return policy, and order them so you can measure things with the parts in hand to verify yourself before installing and return them if necessary. With such a rarity, it is unlikely you will find someone on this forum who has been through this exact scenario.

The above pic shows the options for the single cab, and you have a double cab. Depending on your accessories, I would order the spring for the slightly heavier unit (bush bar, bush bar/winch) as your unit will already be slightly heavier in the front with the double cab. Best of luck!

I agree with @Rigster . They probably didn't have the info to properly advise the correct front coil springs for the relatively light engine (compared to the diesels). Your only real burden would be having to deal with figuring the proper front coils to match the weight. My best guess.

We do V6 Cruiser suspensions bi-weekly vs V8 / 2.8 daily. Use the lightest spec (thus OME 2856) coils up front. All other bits are specced the same as the others, except that the V6 always has twin rear brake hoses while the others ran a single line so no brake line drop bracket.

The V6 will also likely have an H151 gearbox, much like the V8 yet the flywheel is a smaller 275mm instead of 300mm on the V8.

Add a TRD charger and it wakes up, even more so with a Magnuson or Bullet kit.

FYI, V6 Cruisers are still in production and available new in certain markets. Even the venerable 1Hz is still being produced new by Toyota and fitted to J7 series Cruisers, the latter though comes with a lighter duty R series gearbox.
