Hello all,

Newbie here....

Just purchased a second hand 2009 v8 diesel troopie and need to update a couple of things. I have looked for manuals to cover my model but I have only tracked down to 2008 edition, that may have to do!

Can anybody assist me in the following;
1. How do you remove the old speakers, so tin sounding.
2. Is there a method in removing the door panels? I didn't want to pull them straight off as they seemed to be held in a bit differently to my previous car types.

Many thanks for any assistance.

The stock speakers dont sound too bad if you use them in conjunction with some speakers that have some bass.
Once removing the little speakers,the next problem is finding some that are better. A car stereo shop told me the only little speakers you can use as replacements are from mid 80s german cars.Mercs and BMWs.

Removing the trims are best done with a $5 tool available from any parts shop.Its hard to explain ,but you need to get the right size tool and lever the plug out of its hole.
To do this you must get the tool between the plug and the .door
If the tool goes between the trim and the plug ,you lever the plug off the trim and its non repairable.

I use one like this from supercheap.It will also remove the circlips holding the window winder on

To remove the door opening lever,you remove the screw and slide the plastic bit backwards 10mm

Many thanks for the reply, off to super cheap now to get that tool as it is exactly what I require.

I will research the speaker problem before making a decision, you are right in what you said it may not be the speakers themselves.

Thank again.

Michael
