Not mine.

I am on the hunt for an FJ40, so I decided to look locally and discovered a dealer that has this one for sale. I called to ask on the price and he said $40k.

He said it has not been restored, and does not have rust. I don't know anything about this dealer, other than that they are more of a mechanic shop than a dealer, and they have a good reputation for working on BMW and Mercedes vehicles.

It's out of the price range I am hunting for, but I am still curious on what you guys think about it.

Edit: Hmm, maybe I put words in the dealer's mouth. When I asked about the undercarriage, he said "it's original". From there I concluded "it hasn't been restored", but that's not what he said. I don't mean to misrepresent what he said.

Yet another upside down bezel - It has a aluminum tub so that is not original :)

How can you tell it has an aluminum tub? Is it common to find aluminum tubs replaced on restored FJ40s? I assume they are much more weak?

Also, I am watching your lcnation.com site like a hawk, since so many posters on here have recommended it. When something pops up that catches my eye in my price range, I will be asking lots of questions! Your Pollux Orange truck is out of price range, but I can't stop looking at it.

The transmission tunnel is squared off, and that is a hallmark of an Aqualu tub. That truck is far from original and I would argue far from being worth 40K.

not to speak for Overton but the transmission tunnel is the first thing that gives it away

So many overpriced 40s out there including this one.....

This yellow truck is 40k. It must be well out of your budget as well. If you look at the interior shots you can see it’s an aluminum tub. The tranny hump is squared off.

The Orange 73 is in the high 20’s?
Is an aluminum tub a bad thing? Seriously, I don’t know.

An aluminum tub is not bad. It’s also not original.
