Just finishing up on my 78 FJ40LV-KCJA rebuild, originally I had a 67 cowling on a 78 chassis, now I have a 78 cowling and aqualu 3/4 aluminum tub on a new frame and 78 chassis. I was running a 34/34 progressive Weber. When I recently installed the brake booster and master cylinder the assembly touches the carburetor. If I left it that way I think the stronger of the two would win out but I don't want to be on the road when that happens. I ordered a Trollhole carburetor, hopefully will be here next week, and now I need the OEM Air Breather bottom as I have two good tops, I think the years are from 9/77 thru 12/78 and the teq part number is 17700-61021 for the whole assembly. I only need the bottom half and would like a very good used one. If you have what I need please get back to me asap.................thanks!

I have a used lower half from a '79 you can have for $50 plus the ride.

Thanks for the response, Mark.
I may have left out an important fact. I'm running the JTO power steering system with the Saginaw pump on the cantilever bracket attached to the first two head bolts (manifold side). A 75-78 2F air cleaner will clear the pump. I see that a 79-87 2F air cleaner has a bend that attaches to the air duct and by the pictures I've googled it doesn't look like it would clear the pump. If you know different please let me know.

I found and bought a early 2F air cleaner bottom from eBay, I assume that a 75-76 is the same as a 78
if someone knows different please let me know.
The one I bought did not have mounting brackets on it so I will have to cut them off the old one and weld them on to the good one coming.

The front and rear brackets that attach to the valve cover are bolt on, so you shouldn't need to do any cutting...there. But I still wonder how the inlet fits with the hi-mount power steering pump. You're gonna have to post pics.

I found an earlier model (75-76) air cleaner base which had the flap control duct and cylinder head mounting bracket cut off. Welded the duct on from what I had as well as the mount. The fit was pretty good, no conflicts with the JTO power steering kit Saginaw pump mounted to the first two head bolts. Very happy with the outcome.
