For Sale '77 FJ40 in AZ

Runs great with a new carb rebuild, but needs springs (left rear) and a straighter steering rod (operable). This was a ranger vehicle in CO, was painted forest green with a solid tan hard top for that.

The only changes from stock are armored brackets around the front turn signals (I'll miss those), a larger front bumper (nearly covers the span of the truck), and 31" tires (BFG ATs and a ProComp).

This 40 handled a 7-rated trail (to the coke ovens at Florence, AZ) on my first off-roading trip. It has very little rust, and has a new set of gears up front.

It'll hurt to let it go, but I need something bigger. I'm asking $5,000.

Bezel is up sidy diz-ou-N. Looks like a decent deal. mine seems to have been in worst shape, for more. good luck with the sale.

is the grab bar just held on with double sided tape ??? dont see any screws in the pic holding it on...

The bar is missing that bolt, but has the other three. I had to remove it to get the to the dash for cleaning (air duct). Afterwards, I couldn't reach that bolt, and it dropped. I'll ask my mechanic to finish it.

This 40 is in Mesa, AZ. I'll have close-ups of the worst rust soon.

PM sent. Talked to your mechanic.

Sale pending to a local buyer. I appreciate all the interest, thanks.

Yes, he sold the rig... to me.

Congrats! Post up in the 40 section with some pics and your plans!

Yeah, I will do that. I drove it home yesterday and plan to start dismantling it this weekend. As of now I intend to mainly restore the truck along with some mild upgrades (OME 2.5" lift, 33" tires, custom bumpers, custom rock sliders, custom skid plates, etc). I will start a thread after this weekend's work.
