Is this the correct pin for the left interior door handle? The pin is solid, not like a roll pin and fits very loose in both the chrome handle and brass latch. I have a new plastic cover/escutcheon on order. The plastic cover only has one groove on it I'm assuming to install the pin. So, what would be the method for removing this pin?

Find a long skinny screw that fits inside the pin hole. Screw in and pull the pin out the top.

I'd replace that pin with a tapped pin:

There a JIS standard for this somewhere. I'm too lazy to look for it...
