Hello, Cruiser friends.

Henning from Norway here. I have a BJ 75 PU 1989 modell. I need a new tray on my pick up. I am wondering if the tray from the newer model 79 will fit without or with minor modifications?

Have a nice weekend, LC folks

not a bolt in - the mounts are different and the length is different. The 79 series box is shorter because the cab is longer on the 79 than the 75.

So it will be a gap between the 75 cab and tray if I put on a 79 tray?

I am sorry about my english. I am talking about the space between the back of the cab (the wall behind seats in the truc) and where the front of the tray. Since the cab on 79 is longer than on a 75. And the tray on a 79 is shorter then on a 75. I do not know the measures on a 79 tray. But it easier for me to get a new 79 tray and whanted to put it on my 75. I can ofcourse do some modification on the mounting of the tray. The importen thing is that the wheel well comes over the wheels.....

But the 79s have a longer chassis to go with that longer cab , so does that bring them back to being the same ?

Thinking a little more the was a pic of a vdj79 with a tub tray on it but it had a alloy water tank between the back of the cab and front of the tray , the tank looked to be only about 80 mm wide or so so maybe the 75 tub is shorter , mybe the length difference is between the front of the back wheels and te back of the cab the wheel wells and rear of the tubs are same

If you have some patience, Henning, we can measure and compare the 79 tub that I have angainst our 75 tubs sometime after I am back home next week:-)

hi,
i'm thinking of putting a 79 tray on my 75 and looking at the mounts on the frame, there is quite a difference. i'm sure it's doable with added supports underneath the misaligned mounts. would of been nice to be able to put the spare tire in the space between the cab & tray(actually two spares ()() across the cab width)! is the tray 4ft between wheel wells? 8ft long bed?
