Started tearing into the tachometer question... @c2dfj45 these look very different in size.....

Before I try to do the swap, I hooked up the 80 Series tach to the same wires and it worked great

Going to need more information from Chris to figure out how to do this. Drastically different mounts size, etc.

I'm not sure I can answer all of them....maybe @TaylorDurdan can since he took it all apart. I *think* we used the 1FZ guts on the 70 series tach face so it all fit. The needle from the 1FZ was cut down since the shaft was different from the 70 series shaft and needle. I remember Taylor showing me the glue that was used as ballast for the needle(to weigh it down). The rest of it is something he has to answer. There were spacers and all kinds of stuff.

looking at the boards, mine is much different than the 80 and different than both of yours, mine has three screws in a row that are the three wire connections while the 80 has them at opposite corners.

@joekatana got any ideas.

Who else would have an extra cluster laying around?

I have been looking at signal converters for tach's. I need more info before I can head down this road. Does anyone know what type of signals the 1fz-f and the 1fz-fe use?

Thanks,

If you recall, the windshield leaked as the top seals were nonexistent. I had kind of forgot about this, but Pulled the carpet back when put new wires to the rear speaker and Found a bunch of surface rust. The good news was clearly the floorboards had been replaced so it was not very bad. A few hours with a wire brush and two coats of chassis saver.

I emailed Rat2 and they answered back quickly and said to try it and if it did not work, they would refund it..... good customer service!

Found the water leak was coming from the top of the door, the weatherstriping is old and cracked, so ordered a new set. While I was there, decided to order a new set for my 73, with the removable door frame top, but they are NLA. Any tricks or other source for these? 67861-90K02

I was able to get the ones for the 75 with the non-removable door frames, did 75 series also have removable window frames?

I am wondering if I get a regular set, and then just cut them shorter???

Sorry, talking about the doors. The top portion of the doors, the window frame unbolts and comes off on some rigs.
