Did you fabricate the mud flaps or purchase them?

Next up was the windshield wipers. I tested the motor with the FSM and it turned out fine. So I wired it back up to the car, but I still don’t have returned to park so it must be a relay issue. Anyone had this problem before?

Also in this picture you can see I got all the wiring harness rewrapped and cleaned up

My wipers wouldn’t work at all occasionally and it was the relay connection. Cleaned and tightened that up and all is good - so far anyway. Not returning to rest position sounds more like what Chris mentioned. Mine were “mist” from the factory.

mudflaps are stock FZJ79 parts, flap and brackets to hold them. Drivers side has a notch for the exhaust routing as well.

My old 40 series never had return to park, so not too worried about this. seems simple enough to turn it off at the right time.

That would seriously bug me to no end.
This was my original windshield wiper controls when I spent time on the dark side. Parking them out of your line of sight was an art form. 😊

Except for the fact that the pencil sharpener doesn’t have Lucas stamped on it and is therefore reliable.

Lucas did a great job of strengthening the relationship between car owners and their mechanics....

My mechanic knew my wife and kids by their first names. :)

Tried to order a new antenna locally for this as it shows US stock but they wouldn’t release it because it’s a foreign part. 8630090K01. Is there A different antenna that’s available in the US?

can't you just show them your foreign vin or title? that has worked in the past with a local dealer. Show proof of a local foreign truck to get parts for. I would never admit to utilizing such a vehicle to order parts but it has been done.

You would need to utilize your importation paperwork to show that the truck is legally in the US.

The HS-7 paperwork gets non-US parts released. BTDT. I've trained my parts analyst to just keep mine on file. :)
Yep, and its so weird, im not used to the part being on the table, they asked for my paperwork the first time, and obviously i didnt have it, and they wont take my 20-40 dolaroos or whatever it was.

I might have one for you that I don't think I'll be using. I'll pm you tomorrow or the next day with the P/N of the one I have if you are interested.

I sent the import forms to my local dealership, as an experiment to see if they can get the part released. will see....

They will need to scan and then email an “off line order” to the Parts Analysts in Plano.

Most dealerships say “sure”, don’t do anything and just tell the customer “Toyota said no.”

Hope your dealership folks know the process and whom to send the paperwork to in Plano.

:)

Thanks to Onur, my local parts department was able to get the antenna! So I pulled the inner fender bolts and was able to reach up and install it. Thanks!
