Hi,

I did a search but didn't find any thread with pictures or useful tips. I just bought a 1998 '73 series. I want to convert the springs from leaf to coil .

I have a complete 80 series rolling chassis - from it I want to cut all the mounts, and to transfer the front and rear axle completely, with everything, to the 73 series.

If anyone has done something like this I'd really appreciate tips and pics.

From a quick look today, I saw that the front radius arms mounts (chassis side) sit roughly in the same place as the gear cross member.

Thanks,

Erez

I have a 79 series chassis with coils and radius arms in place. I can take some pics and measurements for you if you want. Do you work in metric or imperial measurements ? I will send you some pics of the front valance as you will need to modify yours to accommodate the top mounts of the new coils.

Hi did you proceed with this project as I am about to have ago with my 73 series cruiser with a 80 series donor vehicle and any help much appreciated. Thanks .....

assuming you has the h55f gearbox, your radius arm from 80 series will cross with the gearbox crossmember. some people will change to h150 gearbox and crossmember which is further to the rear of the chassis and fits nicely.

You are welcomed. There are another issue if you went for h150f, both the front and rear drive shaft length is different than your previous one and I think you can use 80 series front drive shaft, but you cant use 80 series rear drive shaft due to your shorter wheel base, more mods are required.
