Need a 71 FJ40 Speedo cable. 72 and later will not work.

In the past You could find them on ebay for cheep. The repo ones work great. I run a repo one that’s longer than stock since my drivetrain in the daily driver now has a 5 speed.

Will look there. All the supply houses have 72 and up ones that wont work.

They are readily available from several vendors. I offer them, but have a $100 minimum. Perhaps FJparts?

Pro tip: if you don’t already own a thread restoring file, it’s a good investment, and nice to have on hand when you are replacing a speedo cable. A couple of quick passes over the threads helps insure you don’t get a burr cutting into the nylon on the back of the speedo when you you’re installing.

Is yours male on the speedo gauge end and female on t-case end?
My 70 and 71 are that way but napa ordered one for my 70 and both ends are female. If it’s work I’d sell it dirt cheap. Even pre-greased it before I realized.
