I bought this from a mud member as a project nearly 10 years ago. At the time I was working a lot on other peoples cruisers and it sat. Then it went to storage and was kind of forgotten.

Condition wise its a little better than the ones I have seen for sale recently (in this price range that is). It does not have an engine. It was set up for a GM 6 cylinder and those mounts are still in it. It was also set up for a one piece FJ60 cross member for the trans but I have not verified that the mount is correct or in the right spot to be useful. This work was apparently done by mudrak

It has basically new OME suspension. It was installed before I got it and never driven. It also has 5 new 33x10.5 BFG AT on wagon wheels. Installed at the same time as suspension.

The exterior was painted over hastily done body work. Its probably a 30 footer. There are some flaws in the paint and obvious shortcomings in the prep. I think the idea was just to get it presentable to get it on the road. The door jams and inside of the doors were not painted when it was done.

There is rust in the rear corners, some door corners coming through, and one corner of the tailgate. Im sure there is rust in the rockers but not sure how much. I believe the passenger front lower was replaced with a new fender. The driver side needs the standard repair. The roof is good and so is the floor. The frame and underside are rust free.

The headliner is nice.
It has a denso under dash A/C but there are no parts for the system besides that unit.

I have the following extra parts to go with it
All 4 doors complete. I dont recall if they have door panels.
I may have a tailgate handle. I recall buying one but not sure I still have it.
A spare dash pad with minimal cracks
A spare glove box door thats in good shape.
2 or 3 grills
A radiator
SOR carpet kit
BMW 3 series seats with nice Wet Okole seat covers (it currently has similar size bucket seats installed)

I have a 76 2F and an early 60 4 speed that Ill throw in if someone wants them.

Ill be able to move it out to get better picks in the next week or two.

$5000 OBO

Ive been looking at others here on mud and west coast CL ads for the past few months to figure out how to price it. Let me know if Im way off.

Wish I had the spare $$, looks like a nice project

Moved it out for pics. Seems like a decent restoration candidate to me. I didnt list it in the main post, but it also has SOR pinch molding around the door openings. At this point Im pretty sure that I do not have a spare tailgate handle. The one on here was rigged and kind of functions, but does need to be replaced.

Tried to photo what I thought would be most useful. Any rust visible in the door sills and floor is very superficial surface rust. The rear of the passenger rocker panel has a poorly done repair. Can take a photo of something specific just let me know.

Sure looks like a winner. Gotta be someone nearby with a tow truck though, or some other kind of transportation scheme.

Did you ever build a diesel 55, or is this the one and it just didn't happen?

That was the idea when i bought it. Im finishing up a 60 series 12ht rebuild and reinstall in the next two weeks. If no serious interest by then im going to bring it home and make it a driver.

Then at least shipping is not a barrier.

Turbo 3B with 4 or 5 speed.
70 series axles for improved brakes
60 series brake booster
60 or 80 series power steering

I saw the truck in person last week when I got off my ship working in the Columbia River. If anyone has questions about the photos or description, feel free to PM me. Chris is a real good guy. He helped me shoehorn a 55 fender into a Toyota Corolla rental.
