Is there a good source ( in North America ) for bottom seat cushion covers for the BJ70/71?
Thanks, .........1978HJ45

Allow me to modify this thread somewhat: I am trying to determine if there is an outlet to buy OEM bottom seat covers / cushions for a BJ70/71.
Thanks......1978HJ45

Were you able to source a seat cover or cushion for your BJ70? I am in the same predicament.

Without pictures of what you are dealing with on your seats, I must guess that you have a problem similar to what I had.

(my seat situation) The cloth material on the drivers seat had a hole worn in it on the outer cloth section of the base. The local shop could not get cloth to match. However, that had material available to match the side panels of the seat. Using this material to replace the worn section on the driver's seat plus the symmetrical section of the driver's seat, they repaired the seat by replacing the worn cloth. To keep the interior from looking like an obvious repair, I had them replace the same cloth sections on the passenger seat.

Not a perfect solution, but it bought me more time with factory cloth and the interior looks good (in my opinion) with the repair.

Sorry no pictures to share illustrate my discription

I wonder how similar are the 70 series seats and their cushions/covers are to the 60 or 62 series seats?

Yep, the fabric of the bottom cushion is well worn after 26 years. The left edge is worn completely through, and the foam underneath has disintegrated.
