68 FJ40 bumper color?

Hi...looking to see if my 40's front stock bumper is just supposed to be black or something else? Anyone have an answer? I want to paint it soon.

Found all the codes, but nothing regarding bumpers. I've seen purported stock trucks w/both black and grey bumpers. Just looking for an absolute before I get my hands dirty.

go to ccot.com under paint and stuff. they sell that color or go to mana fre and get the spray can

I know where to find the paint for whatever color it may be. I just want to know if they had both black AND gray versions in 68 or what. Mine is black and I think it's stock, but I see a lot of restos going gray/silver whatever.

oh sorry missunderstood. yea flat black, grey pweter and chrome were options from the factory . i went to toyota and they have them in black and chrome, i also know they have been pewter but don't know if it was from toyota or not.

Beautiful. Thanks for that info. My dad couldn't remember what bumper trim options they had when he bought this...something about it being close to 40 years ago....

I've now got it stripped and will prime/paint it gray tomorrow.
