I am about 2k away from the 60k. I emailed my Lexus service advisor for what is included:
REPLACE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER, ROTATE TIRES, INSPECT FRONT AND REAR BRAKES, INSPECT STEERING LINKAGE, INSPECT DRIVE SHAFT BOOTS, RE-TORQUE FLANGE BOLTS (ON APPLICABLE MODELS), INSPECT BODY CHASSIS NUTS AND BOLTS, INSPECTED DRIVE BELTS AND HOSES, INSPECT FLUID LEVELS AND TOP OFF, BALANCE ALL 4 TIRES, REPLACE AIR FILTER, INSPECT CABIN FILTER, REPLACE WIPER INSERTS, REPLACE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID, REPLACE DIFFERNTIAL FLUID, INSPECT EXHAUST PIPES AND MOUNTINGS, INSPECT TIRES, INSPECT RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY FOR LEAKS, REPLACE DIFFERENTIAL AND TRANSFER CASE OILS (ON APPLICABLE MODELS), REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT, REPLACE BRAKE FLUID, INSPECT FUEL LINES , CONNECTORS AND FUEL TANK, VAPOR VENT SYSTEM HOSES, AND FUEL TANK CAP GASKET, REPLACE SPARK PLUGS (APPLICABLE MODELS) ROAD TEST VEHICLE, WASH AND VAC - for the low price of $749.

I thought that the AHC flush and front bearing repack were part of the 60k --- before I go back to her I thought I would check with you guys. Thanks!

Just a suggestion, find a good local garage and just pay them to change all your fluids, use syn, in the driveline and engine. Have the wheel bearings repacked. Have the dealer do the cooling system so you get the right antifreeze. Look at your tires if they are wearing evenly just rotate them. You can change the air filter. You just saved $400 :)

I wonder if the Toyota dealer (now that they have AHC) will do it even cheaper -Yes, having an independent shop do it definetly sounds like the way to go.

Is anything done to the AHC at the 60k?

many thanks!

The front wheel bearings and AHC fluid are spec'd in the owner's manual. The repack typically runs ~$350, AHC about ~$120, cabin air filters need replacing (~$40 each x 2), so figure about $1200 if they do everything spec'd in the owner's manual.

My dealer has a monopoly on Lexus and (Tucson) wants an unbelievable $2.4K (!!!) for the 60K service and does a bunch of unnecessary stuff (inspect timing belt & water pump, meaning a full front engine teardown, regap valves, meaning disassembly and reshimming, replace spark plugs). It's obvious to me they're just trying to pad their profits by exploiting the ignorance of their customers. Just as unbelievable is they were telling me (at the time I bought the vehicle) that it needs "major service" every 15K miles (major service being change engine oil/filter, air filter, cabin air filters, rotate tires, change diff/t-case oil, drain & fill ATF pan for how much? .... $750!!!

The next closest dealer (Scottsdale) charges $1.6K. If it were about $1K like on the GX, I'd maybe be willing to bite the bullet, but $1.6K is nuts! The only different service on the LX vs the GX is you need to change the ATF and AHC fluids. So for me, it's a no-brainer. I've done 2 bearing repacks on my 4runner already, so I'm confident I can do the LX (have all the tools already). Only thing I'll have the dealer do is the AHC & ATF.

BTW, one can get the air filter for $17 and cabin air filters for $26 for TWO at densoparts.com. They are made in Japan, too. BTW, the air filter I got is flat while the Toyota one I got from CDan is kind of curved/warped. Otherwise, both appear identical, both are made in Japan. Wonder if I should shoot some silicone caulk along the edge of the warped filter to seal any potential leak?

Here's my cost breakdown:

front hub inner oil seals (2), lockrings (2), flange gasket (2): ~$39 (CDan)
cartridge of M1 grease (2): $12 (autozone)
diff gaskets (4), t-case gaskets (2): ~$5 (CDan)
toyota red long life coolant (2): $35 (local dealer)
distilled water (10 gal): $7
M1 delvac 75w90 diff oil (7 qts): $45
M1 delvac 5w40 engine oil (2 gal): $55
OEM -20004 oil filter: $7 (CDan...I stockpiled a dozen of them 2 yrs ago!)
denso cabin air filter (2): $26 (densoparts.com)
denso engine air filter: $17 (")
Valvoline dot 4 synthetic brake fluid (2 qts): $13 (PepBoys)
AHC fluid exchange (2 x 2.5L + labor): $120 (dealer)
ATF exchange: $170 (dealer)

So that's ~$560 vs. $1600...

Do not assume the Toyota dealer will use the Long Life (red) Coolant in the radiator. I know of some that use regular (green) stuff unless you specify otherwise. If the rest of the work is being done at an independent shop, but the Toyota antifreeze for the shop to install (maybe the distilled water also).

Not only that, but I remember reading one case on the 80 series board where the Toyota dealer drained the radiator of the red and filled it with green, assuring the guy it was okay to mix both. That's a no-no unless you like buying a new radiator a few months down the road.

The reason I don't like having the dealer do general maintenance on my vehicles is you don't know if the service was performed correctly or even performed at all. You just don't unless you can watch the guy do all the work. For those persons who know nothing about cars, yeah, the dealer is better than doing it oneself or having Jiffy lube do it. But most of us on this board are pretty LC saavy. In my case, I think I'm fortunate that my dealer want such an absurd price for their 60K service ($2.4K for local dealer [ie, monopoly], $1.6K if I drive 110 mi to Phoenix). I need to get a new laptop, and by doing the service myself, it's like getting a nice one for free with all the money I save.

One of my best friends son is a master mechanic at my Lexus dealership. I request that he does the work on my ride and then talk to him before he even starts. Since I have the CPO warranty I ask that on all of my vehicles that he look for any problems since they are all covered under warranty. I feel great having the Lexus dealer do the work. I would feel secure that the work was done and done right even if it wasn't my buddys son doing the work. Now a Toyota dealership might not make me feel as secure, so I see your point.
