So I rebuilt my engine (3B, turbo) years ago and have now almost 2000 kms on it, LOL. Did a pressure test this weekend to see where shes at and measure 600-640 PSI on all cylinders. Pressure holds, does not leak down.

Pressure continues to climb while cranking. Think that if I kept cranking I may see 650+ on some of these?

I was expecting 500PSI range. Problem or no?

Cheers

You must not have shut the fuel off while cranking.
This would make sense. First cylinder I did was #4 (video is backwards to how I actually tested) and did forget to kill the fuel. Fuel was off for the rest but all back to back so fuel in the cylinders. I will maybe try again to compare.

I like to shut off the fuel with the Edic fuel cut off valve, pull all four glow plugs then crank for ~ 20 seconds to purge the diesel. (In a shop it might leave oil stains on the ceiling) then do the psi test.

To my understanding the ideal spec for the Toyota 3B is 420 PSI.
