I had to check- who'se the guy driving the brown FJ60 or FJ62 across the White River bridge on 96th St. near Allisonville Rd?

I've seen it there twice now, as recently as last weekend. I think I spied a snorkel!

I drive a stock blue and white FJ55, the only one on the Northside...

Do you wheel that Piggy?

Nope, it's a 100% stock DD, but I'd love to take it on some MILD off-roading :) NO rock crawling or swamping. Know of any good places in central Indiana?

Really? I thought the badlands were only for modded 4x4's and mudders... Guess I may have to go there and check it out sometime :)

That is really cool. I live at Allisonville and Kessler and Clint our Pres. lives two streets over. We should get together sometime. Check our schedule in the Sticky section. Our next event is May 1-3 at the Badlands. We will be camping for the weekend. We are a good group of dudes who help each other out a lot to prevent damage to our rigs. We usually wheel the areas that offer minimal chances for problems. Don't know who was driving the 60 unless that was Tony who came down from the Anderson area. He doesn't have a snorkel though. Cheers.

There are a few trails where your Pig would do quite well! I've done it before in my FJC without any damage*. (*Contrary to what you may hear the damage I incurred on my last outing with my FJC was completely driver error! I picked a terrible line and paid dearly for it!)

If you're not up for wheeling your pig, there are usually a couple of seats available for a ride along! That's all Oldnslo Brian does!

Any pics of your little piggy? Love 55's!!!

Lets see if I can embed images...

Damn, that's NICE!!!!

There are parts of the green trail I'd take that on at badlands, but not much, too nice to risk it!

Yeah- that's the problem with having something nice, you sort of want to keep it that way :) If I had a lift, then at least I'd feel better about it- a little :) Also after fixing the rust, you sorta get this fear of mud and water. These old things are super rust-prone.

Man that is super sweet...the nicest I have ever seen. Seems to be begging for a lift though. There are quite a few open spaces at the Badlands that you would enjoy...like the sand dunes. If I had one like that. I would ride shotgun with some of us for a while till you have an idea what you might want to try. Thanks for sharing.

I sure do agree about the lift - unfortunately it's beyond my abilities or capacity. 4 inches and 33" tires would do wonders...

Who does lifts? I'm sure in this economic climate someone out there would do it. I have no idea even where to start looking or hoe much it would cost.

I'd love to check out those badlands. I have a '95 Montero that I don't care as much about :)

If you want 4 inches, this is probably the way to go:

MAF OME FJ60 4inch suspension with shackle reversal.

As far as getting it put on, one of our members is Carl who owns Outbackoffroadgear on the south side and he could help. There are three or four others of us who could help out and have you fixed up in no time. Just get them parts and let us know when you want to do it. :)

Thanks for the heads up on Outback offroad gear, I need to go down and pay him a visit... I sent him an email and we'll see if I hear back from him. It would be cool to discuss options are for a few inches of lift. I bet even a spring replacement would help- these old things are over 30 years old now... lots of sag.

You could also go the 2.5 inch version which would be plenty for 33s. Less driveline issues too. Carl is pretty busy these days because he also has a chimney repair business that keeps him away from the fab shop a lot. Would probably be best to contact Cruiser Jimmy here as he does a lot of work for Carl at the shop and may have more time to help you out. Actually, several of us will be at Carl's shop tomorrow if you want to stop by and we could take a look at what you have. If you would like to come down, give me a call.. 317-625-5095

That would be cool. I may be able to spare some time to run down- when would be the best time?
