60 series t-case linkage - early vs. late model

I know the early (pre 85 or 84??) tranny is different from the late model because the spacer section was added, but does this mean that the transfer case linkage is also different?

I have a late model H42 our of an 87 FJ60 that I need to get linkage for and need to know if I have to get the linkage from a 86/87 FJ60 or if any year FJ60 linkage will do..

Yes, the earlier linkage is different which was on my 82 from the linkage on the later 60's with the spacers. I have a extra linkage at home. I will look and see which one it is and let you know.
