60 series radio brackets

How is the original radio anchoerd into the dash on a 60? I have agaping hole there, and no brackets...

Factory metal brackets hold the radio into metal dash bracing inside dash. 60s are a PITA. 62s are easy.

In a 60 dash proper and hard radio install is a big pain .. I I do a little bracket Y from from the bottom space under the radio.

If you get the original radio brackets from someone parting out a cruiser or from a place like cruiserparts.net, you can modify them to work with a single DIN player. It's easiest to remove the dash cover and get the radio to fit while it is off. It's also easier to do all the wiring for an aftermarket player done with the dah removed. Then just plug it in and replace the dash.

also check with vw guys. iirc, the bracket was the same. no longer available new however.
