hey guys new to this forum so don't judge me. ;)
couple of months back i got my self a 1973 fj45 landcruser. the owner before had done a 60 series diff conversion and 351 conversion as well all engineered. still has a lot of work to do little rust in floor pan and new paint job and so on. my question is about the suspension and lift. what would be the best suspension and lift for this conversion would it be still the legal 2 inch lift of the 45 series or with the conversion does it change. please anyone out there that has a lot more knowledge about this then i would ever do fell free to post back. thank you :)

There's a bloke down there called @ozcrusier - he's a bit of a 40 series guru. But my 2c says that lifts are rough as sh!t and I wouldn't go over 2". The Clevo should push it along nicely :)

yer i wasn't going go over 2" just thought it might change because of the 60 dif conversion. yer the cleave will pull her alone very nice. 2'' with 31 or 32s be what thinking of going.

2" with 33's are the shot IMO. 32's if ya have to ;)

yer 33s would look good. i wanted to get 33s. but the truck is not regoed atm it might be hard getting it registered with 33s. i think legal is 2'' with 31s . or am i wrong ?
:hmm:

Depends what size tyres it came with from the factory; a 40 series atandard 7.00x16 measures out at a bit over a 31" if I remember correctly, and (in SA anyway) you're allowed 50mm over standard, so 2 inches and 33s should be no worries. Better check on the regulations over your way tho, and x2 on what everyone else has said, 60 series diffs + a Clevo should make the old girl cruse along pretty nicely!

yer standard 40 server comes factory with 31s I've read up on it couple mins ago my understanding of the regulations i need to have 31s to get it regoed I've got 31s here there not flash but should be all right to to pass. then i can put on 33s and of i go. ;):D

In Qld 50mm over stock in both a lift and tyre diameter is legal. After that you're talking mod plates. Just google mate, the RTA will have the details online somewhere.

yer thanks be couple moths till ill be trying to get it on the road lots of time to do some research thanks

Luke I got a few sets of wheels and tyres you can borrow for rego. I'm in coffs mate so let me know if or when you need them.

thanks mate i will let you know :). hey you wouldnt happen to know anyone that could paint my car for me. or could point me in the right place.
