The transformation continues. I've had the beast 6 weeks and this is what has happened:

OME HD with CC and steering stabilizer
295/75-16 BFG AT KO
Diff breathers extended into engine bay w/fuel filter
Diff lock breathers extended
Slee X-fer case skid plate
Insulated front passenger floor (wife already complained!)
Spare tire lift mod
Slee SS extended brake lines

Drain/re-fill ATF w/Mobil 1 (P.O. did 5K previous)
On second round of AutoRx treatment (Schaeffer's 15W-40 Syn blend waiting)
Brakes bled
Center hubs re-painted
New air filter
New PCV and grommet
New PCV hoses
Flushed cooling system
Greased slip yokes and u-joints
Detail cleaned interior and engine compartment
"Waxed" exterior with Mequires NXT
Treated leather with Mequires Gold Class (twice so far)
BG-44k'ed

And probably a couple other things that escape me right now.

Diffs and X-fer got Mobil 1 in the past year...not ready to dump yet.

Still on the list:

Birf maintenance - Wish I had a mentor for this one...
Bumpers - man, the nice ones sure are pricey!
PHH!!!!
Sliders - not sure I want to put this thing in that kind of rock....yet!

I was thinking the quickest way to get new bumpers and some sliders would be to go hit a few rocks.....

600 mile trip to the hunting lease this weekend to cut brush. Good chance to let the AutoRx do its thing.

It is a '97 former Mom mobile. Had 116K when I bought it. 119K now. LX-450.

Birfs are not leaking diff fluid. Front fluid level is correct so probably not full of birf turds. Mileage was over 18mpg on all three tanks on the drive home (before any maintenance).

I did notice the front locker was a little slow to lock. Maybe because it has not been used. I'll lock both again this weekend out at the ranch when I get it in the soft stuff.

Hey Tarbe-

Make sure your back area is empty for all the corn, you guys in Texas have to haul for all of the deer feeders. ;)

Bow Season in GA got started two weeks ago -- it's been too hot, too many bugs and the deer aren't moving yet (At least on my deer lease).

Oh yeah, nice work on the cruiser!!!!!!!!

Hey tarbe, where in Texas? I'm in Waco but I'm from Tenn and helped a guy out earlier this year with the birfs and have been meaning to get around to mine as well. I'm certainly not a mentor but I've done the process and have a feel for how it goes.

phatairman: there are feeders on the place - does, pigs and turkeys mostly hit them. Never have seen a buck over 2 years old near one. If it were my place, I'd get rid of them - not worth the trouble. Plus, corn really isn't good for them anyway - especially compared to the high-protein brush in south TX.

MGBYLR: I am in Houston. Maybe we could plan a birf party. Perhaps we could start a separate thread and try to set up a GTG (get together) for maintenance, sharing skills, tools, ideas and whatever? Worth thinking about...we all have something to offer.

MoJ: Not retired :( I work generally 10 hours/day, 5 days per week plus commute.

fzj: I am really no good with the camera or posting....maybe my 14 year-old will help me!!!

Yaa, aint it disturbing when you can't figure something out on a computer but then a ten year old comes by clicks 2 or 3 freaking buttons and the damn thing dances and sings like Bill Gates himself was driving. I can almost remember when I was on the cutting edge and knew how all the new stuff worked.

I've never made the trip to Houston but I know alot of people from that area and it doesn't seem like too bad of a drive. I know of at least one other person in my area that would probably be interested in a get together for birfs and just sharing ideas as he just got his 80 about a month ago. PM me or we could start another thread and see if anyone else would be interested.
