6" lift says previous owner

5" of rear lift, 3.5" front. Exactly what you should expect from a J spring lift with no added weight. Swap the rear coils for the heavies.

Thanks for the help! But I'm thinking coil spacers are pretty cheap and go 315/75/16 with room for flex. What do you guys think

Nay's advice is good. Check out his rig to see how/why. 35s clear with almost no rubbing on a 2.5" lift. 3.5-4" of lift will be great with 35s. The issue as mentioned by Nay with castor/pinion angle can get very expensive very fast. Also if you lift the front end you may need to look into extended brake lines at a minimum.

It may be less expensive in the analysis to buy the heavy springs for the back to drop the truck down than to get into the front end.

I have the proper room for flex for a 37" tire on a 4" lift - you don't need any extra lift for 35's and they will look tiny on that much lift.

Now having said this, if you really like the lift, go ahead and raise the front and go straight to 37's :D

But I still say drop it - 3.5" to 4" of lift is such a sweet spot on the 80 where you can dial in suspension travel, spring rates, caster, etc. This gets more difficult as you increase lift, and more expensive.

Good luck either way

NAY your 100% genius! Thanks for your advise. I now have 315/75/16 KM2's on and love them! I decided to put the tires on first and then go from there. Nay your exactly right. I need to switch to the heavies. After tire cost my ideal plan would be to find someone wanting to switch their heavies for the J's.

Since my first post on here I got bord and decided to rip off the flares and flaps. Then paint the wheels a little rattle can action. After much use of the "search" I got tired of over thinking brands and techniques. I left work and went to Advanced Auto and left with Dupli-Color Bed Armor and tape. I taped off where the flares were and did underneath the doors.

ProFro listed the brush guard for free in the classifieds. It worked out great, I met a local 80 enthusiast and got some free parts. Of coarse the plan is to go slee or something similar on the bumper. Were going up to Windrock next weekend

The cruiser looks great. I like the km2s and the stance looks pretty good in that pic. When I get my gears in and finish up my baseline, I would love to hit windrock with you guys. The liner look turned out looking good.

She looks good and it was a smart choice to do tires first. You can then tune the rest for looks and performance.

Nice work on the flares, 80's always look sexier when you take the fat off the old girls hips :grinpimp:

Thanks! Yea, Windrock anytime. I'm really looking forward to going up there to meet more people into the 80's. The liner worked out well. I will get some better pics up soon. My two yrs beatup blackberry camera isnt very impressive.

Thanks. I've read other post about your bumpers. I want to go with "the lighter, the better" concept when it comes to deciding what route to go with a rear bumper and swing out. Any suggestions?
