What failed mechanicaly? Wahts he do with a 8x8 log skidder

My father has three 518 Cat log skidders and two 8x8 Prehaulers with the 4BT's in them now. I didn't think too many would know what a Pre-Hauler is. He is going to install one of the Isuzus in one of the pre-haulers and see if he likes it. If he does, he will then do the other one.

Is a prehauler also known as a forwarder?
Those many wheeled machines that prowl through the forest collecting logs, sometimes taking off the branches and sawing them to length before stacking them on their trailer?

They're very cool machines, I've wanted one for ages. I don't need one, just want one.
