You feel that one around 4:20ish ?
I was on the beach and might have been the only one not to feel it.

in Brookings at 4:34 i saw all the chandeliers in the store start to sway
i knew what it was but couldn't feel it
i ask others in the store if they could feel it
no one did ???
BUT
in Crescent City at my Garage
my son said stuff was jumping all over the place

Oh hell yeah, I felt it! This one didn't slam like the one in 92 did, but rolled pretty impressively. I heard someone describe it perfectly as 'wiggly':D.

My power in Arcata came back on at 11:00 PM. Then drove through Eureka and parts of it were still in the dark. Sections of town that had power were interesting. Little shops everywhere with all the lights on and signs flashing "OPEN" but no one around. PG&E crews everywhere working on power poles and going business-to-business I presume to check for gas leaks.

crazy, wasnt there another EQ earlier this week in Cali?

Quakes are very frequent around here. You just don't notice them unless they are greater than a 4.0 and not worth much attention, IMHO, if they aren't above a 5.
Now, greater than a 6 and it's got every ones attention. Unless you're at the beach and don't feel it.

Dude, you drive a Landcruiser and think going down a boulder strewn road is fun.. You are just used to the bumpin' and thumpin'!

Glad you're alright and didn't get to experience a Tsunami!

X2 on the tsunami. We've seen what they can do. You're right about the bumpin' & thumpin'. Part of much of my LC activity and just seems normal I guess.
Still, with everyone and I mean everyone talking about it, I feel just a tad left out.
Next time...

Yeah it was a nice sized shaker. I was out at Centerville beach(Ferndale) on Sun. and there was some nice sized cracks in the sand.
This pic was a relatively flat area near the mouth of the Eel river. My son stepped on some of them and they went down quite a bit for being in sand.
We were in the house when it hit and all ran for the door jambs. Most of the damage was in Eureka.

One observation though. Out at the mouth there are usually many many sealions and we saw 3 and they were in the water.

Somewhere around here we have pictures just like that we took on the beach just hours after the 92 quake!

Perhaps an interesting side note, the sealions at Pier 39 in Frisco left maybe less than a week ago. Who knows?
