I notice that MAF sells 30MM for 19.95 each. I'm looking for a 50mm spacer. I notice that they are sold in AUS for $220.00. Does anyone know of a company in the states that sells them cheaper? Also has anyone had any experience making their own?

Thanks

What are you trying to accomplish?

I have a stock vehicle right now ( minus running boards). I want to fit 33" tires without doing an expensive suspension lift. I am going to play around with the torsion bars a bit and would like to crank them up between 1.5 and 2" and then add a spacer to the rear. Im not going to be adding much weight or any addional gear, i.e winch, bumbers etc. Just want a little more height. I know 30mm is very common, but I just can't imagine there being any trouble by going 50mm.

33 will fit stock

Easy...there's different ways. Here's my suggestion of the best ways to do it:

Best: Adjust front T-bars...add OME 865 springs to rear

Next best: Adjust T-bars...add a 30mm MAF spacer and one 10mm OME trim pack atop each spacer. I'd not try 2 10mm packs (for 50mm total) though it too might work.

33's fit with or without the lift though this would be a very easy way to raise your ride up.

865's? Not true whatsoever. A totally stock 100 rides fantastic with 865 and stock, or even better, OME t-bars. Better handling all around.

Mine didn't. It suuuuuuuucked... I'd really be interested in your definition of "fantastic" too. To the OP, I removed my 865's and OME t-bars, and went with OEM all around, with 30mm spacers and cranked t-bars to match. Have air bags for the occasional loads. Rides "fantastic" now, maning just like stock. What rear shock are you planning on running?

Except possibly having that stinkbug look unless you have weight in the rear to compensate. I would stay away from 50mm spacers for the rear.

Dont mean to hijack but I searched and didnt see an answer

How long does it take an office idiot with no mechanical skills to install the coil spacers.

The PO installed blisten (sp) shocks to replace the OEM but am pretty sure they are stock height. I will have to check receipts. 30mm would not be a problem with stock shock length right?

I do not seem to be having much luck with Man-A-Fre's website. Every link I click on says the site is under construction. I'm considering the above two options, but would like to compare prices.

865's or 30mm spacers and crank the T bar up front for some ride hieght.

Try this:

Edit: I see what you mean...

I just planned on keeping the OEM for now, I like 'em, maybe go with the Bilsteins but really looking for the most common sense approach as well as economical. I really think there is a lot of marketing hype for all this after market gear. The Landcruiser, IMO does very well with the OEM components for the most part

really? 50mm is right at 2". Your saying thats too much for the Front T bars? I dont know for sure, but I would imagine there is every bit of 5" total. I dont see how 1.5 -2" would really hurt things or cause the "stinkbug" look? IDK? I've yet to start playing around on it. You could be right

You can get spacers called "Mr.Gasket" for like $20 a set. They're grooved on one side to fit on the top of the coil. Don't expect them to last forever, they're made of rubber and it will crack after several years.

FWIW, I've run 3" spacers on top of coils for several SUVs. No issues with coils buckling. I did need, however, need to extend lower links to move axle backwards. Also, needed to lower panhard mount to re-center axle on compression.

To the original poster, I would suggest the spacers. I think you be happiy in the end. If you need more lift, pickup a set of used OME 866 coils from someone that wants to mover to 863s or taller.

I've helped install these before. THe ones that we used were 1". Overall, they really did not seem that bad. I agree that they will ot last more than 3 years.
