Can anybody tell me when the 5 speed auto was first released in the 100 series, month and year please, I'm looking at getting a Electronic parts catalogue, on CD off ebay and I have a 2003 model but the discs are only up to 2002. The 5 speed may have come out in the US or Europe before OZ I expect so it may have it on the disks. I wonder if Cruiserdan thinks these disks are worthwhile for general looking around at the breakdown of parts.

US 100 series and LX470 start getting 5 speed for model year 2003.

Same 5 speed they put in the GX470 and the V-8 4runner, both in 2003. In 2004 they eliminated the dip stick on the 5 speed transmission. I guess they don't want people looking at their fluid :)

Thanks for that, I had hoped it came out earlier than in OZ, which was 10/2002, interesting to see no dipstick.

thats the EPC in russian, you can translate to english with Babelfish.
pick the 3rd box on the bottom, thats for USA(others are Japan and Europe) or try entering your VIN. Takes some getting use to but once ya do it's fun and helpfull. When you see a diagram, click the box under it and it enlarges and you can click on the part and it tells ya the part # and price(in rubbles)

try this

this EPC is for all US/JAP/Euro spec, from 1980 to current, 40,60,62,80,100
ect. At one point it went back to 1970............but no more :(

check out all the versions of the Japanese spec 70 series

Enjoy :)

the reason y they got rid of the stick is becuase they don't want us people that know what the hell is going on to be able to change the tranny fluid... a bunch of bull s*** i say, just another way for their service department to make a couple bucks.

geez, how come one has to go to Russkyland to get a full electronic catalog?

10/2002 are the start of model year 2003. So we got it around the same time. Car manufacturer are always about 6-3 months early when they start the model year so they have time to reach the market and confirm with the market regulation for that model year.

hi everyone,

i've noticed that the landcruisers equipped with the 5 speed auto has a gated s***er, my family has a turbodiesel landcruiser that is a 2003 model with exterior and interior updates, if 2003 models are equipped with 5 speed auto then how come the shifter in our landcruiser retains the regular push button shifter similar to the ones found in 4 speed landcruisers? does this mean that we have a 4 speed despite it being a 2003 model? please enlighten me.
