Been a few years since I was out west, so last summer we had the idea to meet Lisa's family at Yellowstone NP for a week-long vacation.

Rather than flying out and renting a (lesser) vehicle for a week, I took three weeks off work and we made a broader itinerary to see a few of America's most beautiful places.

To keep the text brief, and get right to the pictures, here's a list of our key sites:

The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD
Wall Drug Store in Wall, SD
Mount Rushmore, SD
Crazy Horse Monument, SD
Yellowstone NP in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho
Grand Teton NP in Wyoming
Jackson Hole, WY
Green River, UT
Colorado Natl Monument in Grand Junction, CO
Delta, Montrose, Gunnison Colorado
Imogene Pass, Telluride CO
Monarch Pass, Sargents CO
Pitkin, Tin Cup (Cumberland Pass and Tin Cup Pass) CO
Buena Vista CO
Hartsel CO
Colorado Springs (USAF Academy and Garden of the Gods)

Looks like a fun trip!

Thanks for posting these pics. Ten years ago I went that same part of Colordo and had a great time.

Thanks all.

No, didn't find any gold! LOL though we tried in several places. It was fun to get the children into the streams and wash rocks in a pan.
