Recently totaled my 2000 4runner and ended up with a 2004 after everything was said and done. I am looking at lifting my truck but I have no idea where to start. Im looking at ToyTec's website and there are several kits to choose from at several different prices.

What i would like to do is comfortably clear 32's.... Maybe 33's and i do not want to have to make many alterations to everything else so I am thinking a 3in lift. Does that sound about right? And what else is involved in the lift and what would be a reasonable kit to look at? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Take a look at the OME (Old Man Emu) kits as well. I dont think I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about them. Unlike most other kits, (nothing against Toytec or others, they all have good products), but OME makes their own shocks, and valves them specifically to work with their coils. I found one of the places for a good price on OME kits is Slee Offroad.

Sorry about your accident, but congrats on your new ride. We are running on Ironman 3" lift, heavy springs w/foam filled rear shocks. We're very happy with the ride and customer support. One of our front shocks blew and Ironman is sending 2 new front shock replacements, not just the blown one so they wear out together. Yes to if you go above 3" lift then you have to start extending stuff. I've heard lots of good things about various lifts out there. We're only running 31's but I know 32's would fit and I'm pretty sure 33's would fit if we wanted them. My 2 cents.

EDIT: We have a 05 4R.

This sounds pretty good. My 4runner will stay mostly on road since it is a daily driver. The most I will ever do in it is go up some mountain trails for camping. No rock climbing, so this lift will be 80% for looks and the rest for the mountains. Any thoughts on a spacer kit with new coils and running stock shocks/struts? Ive been looking at toytec lifts and i could have that route done in the next few weeks. Much more than that, then i'm going to have to wait six months or more.
