Chuck has a 4spd transmission he will let me have, but it's going to need a rebuild. I won't even pretend to know how to do it. I have heard all kinds of things about pulling things and preloading things...which means nothing to me.

So, the question is...is anyone willing to help me rebuild a transmission? Is it worth a try or should I take it to a shop and just have them do it? Or (and no offense Chuck) should I try to find one that doesn't need a rebuild?

Heather if Dan will switch HAMOM's with you we'll have your piggie at the pig run, you might have to make yours a whole weekend long and get a keg. We'll need a lot of beer to keep working for 2 days and a little room on the floor to pass out.

No offense taken Heather...one way to look at it is you are gettin a free tranny so you can spend some cash to get it rebuilt...cause you will buy one there are 2 kind that you buy....one that costs 60 to say 175 bucks that may run well but eventually will need a rebuild....and two the one that costs 300 bucks and has just been rebuilt. One option may be to call up some one in atlanta, possibly dearborn and trade that one for one he has rebuilt...using this one as a core return. I'm being hypocrytical here cause I just put one in my 40 that ran in the 40 that is cam out of and was in good shape but no gaurantee to how long it'll last..knock on wood. But if you have the time and cash I'd either get that one rebuilt or trade it for a rebuilt one so once you put it in you don't have to worry about it. What ever route you go the tranny is yours for either a rebuild or parts for the rebuild. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

Well with a deal like that, a girl just can't say no!!! Thanks Chuck! I think a rebuild will be just the ticket.

Now, how the heck do I get it from you?

I plan on being at the meeting on saturday. I'll have it with me.
