While I have never purchased a vehicle on Ebay, I have certainly done a lot of shopping. Apparently the newest scam going around involves someone taking the picture you have posted in your local classifieds, craigslist, autotrader, with vehicle description and changing the telephone number and listing it on ebay, etc. I had an incident like this at work today. I would want to see the vehicle in person or have a person of trust confirm that the seller actually owns the vehicle they are selling. Jason

Comments on the '79 and '82.

The green truck has BC plates, but the guys area code 808 is not local.

The vin numbers span about 20,000 between the two trucks which are three years apart in claimed age, but the photos show an FJ40 frame horn was spliced in at some time onto both trucks.

Three speed, drums brakes, claimed factory AC and power steering seems an odd combination.

They are nicely rebuilt trucks no matter the history though.

These are from Indonesia, and the word from the restorer was that they were ex-military. Perhaps the 3 speed was used for a military joblot for ease of maintenance? The p/s is definitely Toyota, the a/c looks stock but might have been retrofitted from a diferent truck. They are sitting in my driveway/garage. The other owner (who found them in indo) is in Hawaii right now.
