Hey all,

Wondering who owns 45s in the Okanagan & Shuswap. I've got a rusty 1977 LPB that I want to begin work on and would love to know if there are any 45 guys around me. I'm in Salmon Arm.

Thanks,
Jayson

Just below you in the states with a '66 LPB. I have a lot of extra parts left over too. I'm about 20 miles south of Grand Forks, BC.

Yes. I'm the guy on Craigslist looking for the bed. The 45 was a lot worse than I thought. I bought it without seeing it about a month ago.

I saw that bed in an old ad a few months ago and I couldn't believe it. Too bad I wasn't looking then.

I'm starting a small collection as well—I picked up 1 1/2 40s from a guy in town to help with parts for the 45. There's a bunch of stuff I don't need so I'll try and part that out.

I'm a total newb so I'm learning as I go. Got a FSM and have been lurking here for a few months.

Good to know you guys are around.

My 45 is worse than yours. I think I'm just going to buy an aluminum one.....

There's a guy selling 79 series boxes for $1500 in ON—includes tailgate & headache rack. Just wonder if it would fit the 45 with minimal mods?

79 Series box will fit on the 45 with modifications to the box itself. There is a 45 here on Mud which is in France which did exactly this graft, and it looks quite good. $1500 is a decent price if complete and rust-free.

Thanks Steve

Thanks for the info Steve.

Here's a couple of shots from the ad:

No-way is that my rig.. a 45 body on an 80 frame? I wish!

I stole this from somewhere on here - I can't recall mate I'm afraid. I have seen a bunch of 45's down here with 75 beds. Unsure how it's done but I've seen it often enough that it can't be that hard.

I HAVE seen later HiLux beds on earlier HiLux trucks. They used a piece of flat bar to make up for the space between the different mounting points. Hard to explain but simple when you have a pic. I'll see if I can find one.

i have a 1978fj 45 going to start on the rebuild of it this winter if you need any idias or you have any for me i would like that very much

Off topic but... Just did a trip on the long week end in my 60 , thinking and ok Hoping I would see and possibly meet cruiser's and owners of mainly 40's and 45's.
I met 2 60 owners and saw a nice silver 60 in Revelstoke on the return, tuesday.
My trip took me through Salmon Arm into Kelowna then back through lumby into Nakusp then Revelstoke and back home in Calgary.

The whole trip ... nadda ! I keep wondering where all the Cruiser's have gotten to ?
Maybe next time I'll toss out a meeting as I'm passing through ! what a shame to see only Jeeps !

To answer your question... I have a 45 a 42 and a 60, in Calgary.
Hope to meet some time when I'm passing through !

As for boxes try Kevin ( Calgary ) he builds custom retro style. find him on mud.

I've checked out Aqualu and may eventually have to go that route.

I do have a tailgate coming from Kevin (Awl_TEQ) w00t! I may try and salvage my box sides and use the new tailgate with a wooden flat deck or something, not sure.

hey jason,

I might... and mean MIGHT sell one of my 45 frames.... i know of a wrecked 80 and have been thinking naughty thoughts. I mean i got two so why not make one epic and one stock right?:D
