i’m concerned that your inquiry is ….. well its a little ford vs chevy meaning it smells like a planted post thats not genuine to the backbone of this forum.
Planted post? Not genuine to the backbone of this forum?

It's a legitimate question on a 400k mile 100 series. My second in the garage. Do you think I've been lurking 10yrs to do a planted post on what oil to use on a high-mileage cruiser?

I’m at my local Walmart wondering if there is any difference between these two, as far as additives go.

Probably, but if you are doing a 5K OCI it's irrelevant. I only buy the EP stuff when my local Wal-Mart it out of the normal flavors of M1.

I have 3UZ, 2UZ, SC 2UZ, 2F.

They all use the same Toyota filter and I use various Mobil 1 oils. Don't over think this. Oil is not a big deal for Toyota engines except my 2F. It gets 15w-50 to help with camshaft wear.

I love the high milage M1 oil. Great detergent and high thermal protection.

As usual there's zero PDS sheets or anyone looking at real specs in another oil thread. Just a bunch of rumors.
Exxon has more R&D money than any company out there. They produce nothing but phenomenal products.

I don't see a single phrase about M1 requiring you to continue to use the HM oil or any of their oils for that matter after an oil change.
Where is this documented?

Im at 420k, just put in some Eneos oil this go around. Truck seems happy with it.

Posted a thread a couple days ago on the 100 series forum about buying my 361k 100 series. Glad that I found this thread. I cannot decide on what oil to put back into it, I think I will call the previous owner and ask if he remembers what kind of oil they ran through it. Like stated above, HM oil is something I want to avoid, IF they haven't already used it. My 80 has 245k miles and for 10k miles I've been running Rotella 10w-30 T4 conventional "diesel" oil with a mix of 2 cans of liqimoly ms02 friction reducer. Knock on wood, no leaks, no oil burning. Averages 15-16mpg on the interstate on 34s. good enough for me. I guess that's what the 100 will probably be getting too.

182k, PO said he ran synthetic for a bit but went back to conventional. Planning on running conventional as he did. My 4R 2UZs have been running synthetic because that’s what POs used.
