Hi All:

Ehsan, I like what you've shown us so far. Is the "roll-up" feature for the front and rear of the top so that one could drive the truck slowly with the "trail top" installed?

Thanks!

Hello there.
The roll up feature at all 4 sides has been put in place so that putting the top on and taking it off and also folding it is very simple and easy. Driving slowly on the trail is poosible with this on..
This will have holes for twist locks on the side.. Belts similar to the OEM tops on the rear corners and velcro metal pieces on the front that can be screwed onto the cowl so that the top fits in the front firmly..
The material is the same as the tops.. Vinyl.
Pricing is US$150.. .. Shipping would not be much as the weight is not much..
Thanks
Ehsan

I am the proud owner of a rock gear top as mentioned above for an FJ40. This top is no longer made.

It may also be up for sale as my Metal Tech Full Cage is in route.

my sis in law was going to buy me one, but she was two months too late. does it fit the oem bar, or does it have to be an angled bar like the aftermarket ones?

I'm just assuming that all you guys who are going for the top have
the factory OEM soft top bows. Without these, I'm not sure how
Ehsan's top will work.

fits the stock bar. the drop down panels are a coated nylon not quite a spiffy as the one on the rock gear site. Its basically a bikini that has panels that drop down for doors and to cover the rear cargo area. It does not have the rear window either. I am going to install it on a buddies 40 this weekend and click some pics.

The one pictured in this thread is good for family cage and factory bows, but is not good for stock roll bar and no doors. Hold on for one more week, the prototype Trail Cover that was manufactured for Jeeps will be avaliable for FJ40's as well in about 2 weeks tops... They will have the prototype trail cover UPS'd to me over the weekend, I try it on, and then give them the fit check, then they start production. The Trail Cover that they will make will be ideal for stock roll bar and no doors, because it slopes in the back and will come down to cover door section. The one above is good for half doors and family cage/factory bows but not my application, nor quite a few others. I like the option to fold up the front and such though...

Ehsan,

Any chance of making it the same as in the picture but having the area where it covers the door go to the bottom of the tub?

Is anyone putting together a bulk purchase of these?

Ehsan,
Any more info on shipping or a group buy. What does the volunteer need to do to get this going or I'm a little late?

Mike
Hello there
You are not late.. No one has contacted me for getting the group buy going.. All the volunteer has to do is to collect the money nd send it to me(Or individual customers can send in the money themselves) and when the shipment is recieved then the volunteer has to distribute the tops within the States.. Not a problem considering the small size and light weight of the top. You can email me at ehsankiani@yahoo.com if you are seriously thinking of arranging the group buy..
Thanks
Ehsan

I'm interested in a group buy too. Someone let me know if one gets put together.

Rob
