That range of years has some shape and dimension nuances. They are not all the same. Unless you're just looking for garage wall art, you should look for something within your truck build range. With luck, @livinginthepast, among others, will probably expound on this.

9/72 was a big change. The height and length changed. I installed either a 75 or 76 model in my 68 model when I installed a four speed. 65- 72 models were close if not the same besides hole for shifters on some.

Thanks for the replies. Its registered as a 69 but has most 68 and earlier items like turn signals, tailights, badging etc. I removed vacuum shift and now have floor shift 3 speed.

Hope this helps clarify!

For reference the one your looking for would be in the middle. 69 would have been solid. Guessing the one in the middle is from a 72 since that model had floor shifters available. 9/72 the tunnel.cover got taller and longer.

Not sure of any badging differences between 68 and 69. My early 68 had the smaller tail lights, round turn signals, taller one level pads on the hood for the windshield and the chrome hub caps. Mine is a 9/67 build date and is a 68 model with the padded dash and other 68 changes.

@Dirtgypsy what is the month and year build date of your 69?

Not sure of build date. ( getting paint now) if I remember correctly 8/68. The one in the middle is what was on there and is exactly what I need.

Can I not use one of the later models or possibly the repro that’s out on the market?

Thank you again for the help.

@DesertFJ40 ] just did a good writeup on the differences using the 4 speed cover in the older tubs. Check it out.
