Planning on putting in a toyota 4 speed (dont know year) in my 71 fj40. Can I keep my original clutch system (finger style) w/ 4 speed bellhousing? The bellhousing has holes on both sides for clutch fork. Thanks

If you have trouble posting pics it may be that they are too big --change them to gifs and shrink them down in paint

A couple tips:
- make sure the clutch is facing the right way

- make sure the pilot bearing slides on the shaft before putting
tranny in, sand shaft with emery cloth if needed

- might as well do a rear main seal at the same time

- if your parking brake is working --good if not fix it while the tranny is down or you will have to pull the motor mounts to get enough clearance to pull the drum once the 4 speed is in!

On the 4 speed bellhousing you can put your slave cylinder on the left side or right side---I kept mine a lefty
