3vze install advice please

I have a used 3vze that I am about to put in my 94 4runner. I don't really trust the source from which the motor came, but it is what I have to work with. My questions are:
1. What is the best source for a used 3vze, ie honest and not outrageously expensive?
2. I pulled the motor and tranny (auto) at once and it looks like the way to go for reinstall. Is there an easier way?

the 22RE engines are built way better and last much longer. youd be happier putting one of those in instead.

I agree, but the truck came with the 3vze and auto. It is still gutted and I am open to the idea. How painful would the conversion be? Should I just convert to a diesel 4banger if I'm going that far? Thanks for the advice.

these guys sell a kit to replace your 3.0 (3VZ-E ) with the newer 3.4 (5VZ-FE)
there is a guy on marlins forum that is doing one of these swaps
