Lets say there was a steep sand dune and we put a Twin Turbo 1VD-FTV LC200 next to a 3UR-FE 200, which vehicle would climb higher?

The 3UR-FE has better acceleration and the 1VD-FTE has higher torque.

Acceleration wins out in this one, if you get up to speed without digging in you will go farther.

Don't need torque for the sand, as it is easy to push through, hence the reason you can get stuck in it.

5.7 3UR-FE. Only because I've never driven a 1VD-FTV :grinpimp:

I highly doubt there are a lot of people that can answer that question subjectively...especially since NA did not get the diesels.

Actually NA is one of the smallest markets for the TLC. In fact the company I work for in the UAE, armored more TLC's last year then were sold throughout the USA. Streit is just 1 of some 20 Middle East companies that armor TLC's

But the comparison really doesn't relate to real world. The 5.7 you will only get on the LX or VXR, where the 4.5 we only get on G and GXR. Not only is the engine different in those two vehicles but the suspension would be different also. KDSS vs AHC.

If your in market for TLC to have fun on road and off-road still think the 4.7 (now 4.6) mid option GXR is the ideal choice. If you don't mind manual the G9 (but you lose that rear a/c) Goto Al Awear and do the local upgrades to the trim and you just saved yourself a ton of money.
