I recall someone getting them from OZ and doing an install awhile back, but were they ever available for the US-spec 60/62?

I've got a couple of them, but didn't know if there would be a demand for them or not and didn't want to feel like an ass posting in for sale w/o having a good idea on how much they might be worth.

I don't want this to turn into "I get first dibs!" type of thread, but I simply would like to find out "Yes, the 3rd-row seats were available" or "No, they were never available" And how much such seats might be worth to those who want them in good condition, matching color, with shipping, etc...

Mod, although I do not have any of these seats for sale, please feel free to move this if you feel this should be in "For Sale" or "JDM Parts" section(s) instead (Could be considered as a feeler, I guess).

Thanks in advance for any input!

The ones that got the 3rd row probably had the high roof too. I like the idea of side seats myself. But they are not very safe for the little one, but can fit an adult better. Is yours the similar shape to those found in the 80 series?

They fold to the sides?

If they were in good shape and came with a bunch of install parts they must be worth a grand or so.

I got a front bench 60% side seat to install in the back of my 60. It will allow one more to sit back there.

In my 80 I only use one half of the rear seat for my one son to sit back there(I have 3). It spaces the kids out perfectly.

Yes, those are the ones, there seem to be two colors, tan/brown and blue/grey.

The seatback folds down forward, and then they fold up to the sides, just like in the 80/100 series. They do not recline (no gears like in the 80 series) though.

Although it's highly unlikely I am going to look for the mounting hardware. I wounder at least the latch/striker for the 80 series would work for the 60/62. I've got a couple of them somewhere that I can check with.

I like talking to myself, can you tell?

The trouble with the third row seats in a US spec cruiser is that space gets tight quickly with out the high roof. I'm pretty much echoing what Brownbear said above. I've never seen side facing third row seats in a sixty, only the side stowing seats which face forward much like the 80 series. I think the these seats are indeed safe or never would have met dot standards or been offered in the US 80's. That said, figuring out the seat belt situation could get interesting. Maybe the 80 series setup? I think there could be much greater interest in the split 2nd row bench... well, I know of at least one person interested!

IG,

Thanks for the input!

Seems like it's A LOT of hassle!!

I was going to put these guys for sale, but I think w/o the mounting brackets and stuff they would serve a better purpose on a garage floor!

I'll have to look both here and in OZ for a parts rig with them and see if the seller would be willing to cut the brackets or something!!! I guess I should have thought this through before forking out the dough.

I love my drawer system / sleeping platform too much to ditch it for third row seats, but having a second row split bench would be killer.

OK, I've asked this before and got cricket sounds in response...
But it seems like there's some activity here so I will make a bold hijack...

If you rigged up a mounting bracket (to attach to the floor) and a bracket to connect the seat to the back, what do you think of taking a spare 2nd row bench seat, turning it backwards and making a rear-facing 3rd row bench seat? You could put a bazooke tube between the two seat backs... Could make them quick release, with wingnuts or something...

Somebody must have tried this before...

Hmmmm...... a second-row split bench seats.... taking notes... :grinpimp:

See what I found on OZ ebay while looking for some 3rd-row seat stuff last night!

The seller wants "local pick-up only", so maybe you can have a Mudder in Victoria send them to you. ;)

you find some good things MOT

keep up the good work...and keep looking for the early stuff....impressive :)
It doesn't do much good if I can't provide the necessary parts to do the installation with though!

Thanks for the compliment though, it's much appreciated!

:crickets:???

:flipoff2:

I think that would work as long as you had the 3rd-row passengers get in and out of the vehilce throught the back of the rig! :D

ANYWAY, it's a long shot, but I'll let you know if I find any of the mounting parts for the 3rd-row, as well as some 2nd-row seats. ;)

Thanks again for your input!
