Is a 4.88 R&P a good choice for a 62 that has the stock motor, trans, and 33" tires? I live in the mountains and carry a huge amount of stuff in the back. With the stock 4.11s it really dogs in the hills and I don't want to cook the A440. Lastly, what sort of weight toloerance can the semi-floater take? I probably carry about 1500lbs of equiptment and fuel when on expedition. Thanks, Winslow

i just did the 4.88 swap
runnin 35's
still boggs on the hills but it is definitly better than the 4.11's i had in it

west coast differentials hooked me up in my time of need

i think you'll really like them with 33's ;)

I thought that 4.88 are so fine for your aplication .. in normal conditions 33" and 4.56 are good convination, but with auto tranny, and a lots of weight in behind your engine .. 4.88 are best overall solution ..

Take in mind that you final speed can be reduced a lots, and you fuel consumption increased much more.

Up 18% from 4.11 to 4.88.

I just swapped to 4.88s in my HJ60 (2h diesel with auto tranny) with BFG 33". Its was the right choice. It does 65MPH at 2500 RPM. It seems a bit wound out cruising a at 70+ but its way better on the hills etc. I think it was a great choice. 35" tires would put you basically at factory ratio.

yes, I think 4:88's will be correct for your use.
